Description:
A dryer week this week with less than 3mm of rain. Black Sturgeon Lake level continues to drop gradually, down another 1.5” this week. A road running next to the north shore has reopened as water levels have dropped sufficiently. Ditches are drying out. Forest and lawns remain lush, but growth has slowed. Lots of boating activity on the lake this past holiday weekend. Forest fire hazard has been upgraded to extreme, although no restrictions have been put in place. Fawns are on the move with their mothers. Wild blueberries are just beginning to ripen, and the season promises to be more bountiful than last year, thanks to the June rains.
