Description:
Above normal temperatures and below normal rain, with hot and muggy weather. 
(01 JUL to 06 JUL) 

Precipitation for the period was 0.24”. -0.55” for the period. 
Cal yr 21.65, +0.90” above annual seasonal normal.

Evaporation: 1.00”    
Water Balance for July: -0.76” deficit
Water Balance from 4/12 to date: +1.09” surplus   

Soil Moisture 4” Depth: 125.3 cb – Dry. Change of -87.9 cb
Soil Moisture 8” Depth: 180.7 cb – Exteme Dry. Change of -68.7 cb

Temperatures averaged 79.3 degrees, +5.7 above normal for the period.  

Soil temperatures, for the period, at 2” have averaged 73.3 degrees, 4” average is 73.8 degrees, 8” average is 74.0 degrees and 20” average is 69.8 degrees. +7.7 overall increase, on average, from the previous period. 

Hot, humid and mostly dry week. The soil moisture took a big hit and at  4” dry and at 8” extremely dry, along with rapidly warming soil temperatures.

Lawns are browning and reduced mowing. Day lilies are in bloom and summer hibiscus continuing to grow and planter cherry tomatoes are ripening. 

Bird activity now is mainly sparrows, some doves, occasional robins. Squirrels, chipmunks and rabbits are out and feeding on grass and seed overspill from bird feeder.
