Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: OH-AL-15
Station Name: Ada 3.0 W
Report Date: 7/6/2026
Submitted: 7/06/2026 8:28 AM
Scale Bar: Mildly Wet
Description:
We have had 0.46 inch in the last 3 days, which is the total for July, after 6 days of scorching dry weather. We have had over 20.90 inches for the calendar year of rain only. We are about 5 inches above the amount we got last year since April 1 and well above the 30 year average. We have been under a heat warning for several days with heat indices above 100 degrees and low temperatures staying above 70 at night until yesterday when we were only under a heat advisory. The last few days the humidity has risen and the temperature has gradually lowered. The ground finally got dried out after a fairly wet June. I have noticed several older trees that are dying in the area, maybe from the drought late last year and the cold winter we had. Some wheat fields were harvested last week. The corn and soy beans are growing, but I don't think the corn is as tall as usual because much of it was planted later than normal because of the wet spring. The birds and animals are active, with a bird in our yard this year we haven't seen before. The news is still reporting areas of flooding and wildfires around parts of the country. Some 4th of July celebrations were cancelled around the country because of excessive heat or storms. We didn't see as many fireworks from our yard this year as we did last year.
