There was 0.57 inches of precipitation so far that was recorded at station NY-MR-89 for the month of July compared to the normal climatology precipitation at KROC airport for the month is 0.45 inches of precipitation. Conditions gotten more drier since the last update from last week with the area seeing still an abundance measurable precipitation in the form of liquid over this past week and the area is still remaining drought free. The area is currently considered near normal and conditions had gotten drier and the ground is has dried up since the last update due to the area receiving less precipitation in the form of rain since there has been a lot of measurable rainfall last month in May and June and this had caused the area to receive an abundance of moisture the area had received in the past in general, but the grass is very green and vibrant in the front and back yard. The sump pump hasn’t been pumping very much during the entire week despite the ground starting to dry up. Outdoor activities have been limited or postponed with hotter than average temperatures and wet weather lasting some days of the week despite (scattered rain showers and/or thunderstorms on a couple of days this week) and dangerously hot weather and very high heat indexes wasn’t good for walking on trails this week or any outdoor exposure for long periods of time and local creeks and streams water levels are still holding at low levels along with some unseasonably warmer than normal and humid air in the environment the entire week (Sunday-Saturday). The area experienced near normal to well above average temperatures the entire week. The air conditioner has been working overtime for the entire this week due to hotter/warmer than average temperatures prevailing over the area the entire week due to temperatures warming above average (as much as 12 degrees Fahrenheit above average) and heat index values in the low 100s for July 1st and 2nd. The ground has become drier this week and the drainage area in the backyard has no standing water. The grass is green and vibrant with all the moisture that had fallen over this past week along with leaves on the trees approaching full foliage. The front yard needed to be hand mowed once this week along with vegetation such as Dogwoods and trees in the backyard are doing good, but mowing the backyard was challenging similar to last week due to the ground becoming muddy and very squishy. So far, the total precipitation at this station for the month of July is currently above average.
