Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: TX-WM-316
Station Name: Round Rock 0.3 NNW
Report Date: 7/4/2026
Submitted: 7/04/2026 6:49 AM
Scale Bar: Mildly Dry
Description:
No rain for two weeks now --and normal Texas summer temps are drying us out fairly quickly. Grass still green, but not growing as much; gardening needs irrigation now (but mostly going into summer dormancy) Fire danger high again, though burn bans have not been prominent yet.
Today is the one year anniversary of the horrible Hill Country floods in Kerr County, which drifted to Williamson and Travis Counties the next day. Our eastern part of the county only got 5-6 inches, but the western edge got up to 20". The only benefit was that lake levels locally rose from serious drought conditions, and presently are "full" for the first time in years, and watering restrictions are lowered.
For an interesting comparison of how a short distance matters in rainfall, check this report (I have had just 20' this year) against the Travis condition report in Leander (20 miles west of mine, and reporting over 26" for the year!)
