Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: RI-PR-135
Station Name: Pascoag 0.5 SSW
Report Date: 7/4/2026
Submitted: 7/04/2026 7:05 AM
Scale Bar: Moderately Dry
Description:
A very scattered 0.31” of rain this week and only 7” since April 1, leaves conditions at moderately dry. The Pascoag Reservoir maintained its depth at 8’5”; still a little low for the Fourth of July but at least it’s not dropping. Outdoor water activity like boating, fishing, tubing are all at a high level with the holiday weekend and extreme heat. Water temperature in the lake was up to 85.5F yesterday which is really high. It can’t be good for the wildlife but it’s really nice for swimming and floating. With the light periodic rain for the last 2 weeks, the lawn has perked up a little and started growing again in some areas. Hostas and hydrangeas are starting to bloom and day lilies would also be blooming if the deer didn’t eat all the buds this week. Hummingbirds, red winged black birds, blue birds and sparrows have all been active as have squirrels and rabbits. Local hiking trails continue to be very dry. Happy Fourth of July everyone!
