Extreme heat over the past week made for less landscaping and mowing.  While the grass showed little growth, the dandelions kept up their normal pace.  Wildlife was also subdued by the heat with shaded napping being what most animals chose to do. Last night's rainfall (0.13") helped a bit, but not a whole lot.  We missed the bigger storms yesterday as they were further north, but more storms are predicted for today.  River traffic other than barges was more active this week with personal craft being the most active, Not sure if it was to beat the heat, the fireworks, or just holiday celebrations.  Hopefully some improvements this coming week.
