Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: MO-HL-45
Station Name: West Plains 8.8 E
Report Date: 6/30/2026
Submitted: 6/30/2026 5:02 PM
Scale Bar: Mildly Dry
Description:
Despite multiple rain events this month--brief light showers, for the most part--the ground is holding a little moisture but remains quite hard. That puts us barely into the "near normal" range for year-to-date precipitation; we're still "below normal" for the water year to date. Ponds are looking better but are still scummy. Our wet-weather branches still haven't run since early last Spring. It's now quite hot and humid with light breezes most days. Pastures and yards are green and growing again but still show alarmingly large bare spaces between individual plants. It's a good year for weeds, though. The hay crop here appears to be light, and the fescue seed crop was so poor that buyers shut down early. Fire hazard is low at this time.
