This years monsoon has finally pushed storms and precipitation into this region of Texas. Soil moisture below 5” is still very dry, however recent heavy rainfall and lack of drying winds has allowed soil moisture to increase. Grasses, forbes and shrubs are actively growing. Wet weather streams have begun to run, during periods of heavy precipitation,  indicating  saturated soil surfaces. Wildlife and livestock will both benefit from these improved conditions.
