Rain since the last report two weeks ago has totaled 1.8 inches, improving conditions slightly to Mildly Dry. The Connecticut Fire Danger report Web site is down as this report is submitted, but lawns are less brown than two weeks ago, now predominantly green with yellow patching. Animal activity remains noticeable, while activity at local restaurants and other businesses continues to be light. Besides lettuce and other early crops, some peppers and tomatoes are maturing. Water level at a nearby reservoir remains good, but ponds in a nearby field continue to be dried up.
