Rain on top of rain. We had not had a chance to dry out before more rain came. The ground was saturated, and the grass was growing out of control. It will take a week of drying to even walk on the grass. But I was able to make a first cut after three days of drying time and cut the grass again in 4 or 3 days. The cost of cutting grass is something I would not have thought I’d be concerned with, but 100% gas is $4.75/gallon, and I have too much lawn to go electric. The ground was in pretty good shape to cultivate with small clots of soil breaking up easily as it was lightly roto-tilled. Not much rain is forecast for this area in the upcoming week. Zinnias along the driveway were still looking great, providing beautiful fresh flowers for our home.
