There has been no measurable rain since June 9th and the area is in moderate drought. The soil is very dry, hard, and cracked. Shallow rooted plants such as grasses are turning brown,but larger pants are not showing any signs of stress at this point. Burning bans are in affect in the area and there have been several wildfires in the state, but none in the immediate area.
