June 15 - 21, 2026: Dry until yesterday (20th) when moderate rain in the AM totalled 0.22" by early afternoon. Soil is dry and humidity is low. Sunny areas of yards and gardens need watering each day. Breezy to gusty winds. Daytime temps. ranging from 80's to upper 90's. Beginning to leave out flat containers with rocks and water for wildlife water sources---rocks are so flying insects (bees, wasps, butterflies...) can land a drink. Some containers in the gardens are being heavily used by birds. Hummingbirds are rapidly emptying sugar water feeders. Grass and foothills fires are popping up, usually man-caused, that are being aggressively attacked by fire fighters. It's the first day of summer and already hot and dry with active wildland fire conditions.
