We had more rain this week and nothing looks dry any more. There is no dust flying as you drive down the gravel road. And this was a marvel - we attended a very intense softball game today and did not come home with our hair, clothes, and eyes full of dust!
All types of crops are growing well, although some small grains have started to lodge after recent heavy rains accompanied by high winds.
It hasn't been too hot, which is delightful, so things are not drying out; even our waste treatment mound (normally the brownest grass on the place) is looking reasonably good.
The South Fork of the Crow River, where County Rd 2 crosses it between Glencoe and Silver Lake, has risen a little, but is still well within its banks.
