Conditions remain Near Normal again this week. There was heavy rain mid-week that put down 1.68" of rain over a six-hour time period, that left ditches full and water ponding in some fields. It has since dried out, and those ditches are now empty and only very low spots in fields that are prone to flooding have water left. Area rivers that had risen due to heavy rain the past two weeks have dropped and are within the banks and receding. Currently, all To Date measurements are on the plus side of NOAA Norm. MTD is at +2.81" (185%), YTD +2.23" (113%) and WYTD +1.10" (105%). US Drought Monitor continued to have this station location as Abnormally Dry conditions for last week. With the rain that this area has received and the current showers that are moving through today, I expect that may change to No Drought Conditions. Time will tell. Otherwise, grass is once again green and needing mowed more than once a week, crops are growing and looking really good, and I haven't had to provide supplemental watering of garden and potted plants for over a week. Mother Nature has kept the swimming pool full.
