Description:
Week of (6/14/26-6/20/26) observed more precipitation compared to last week. The precipitation observed during this week was 2.88 inches of precipitation. The amount of precipitation measured was more than the last update of 0.60 inches of precipitation for the previous week of (6/7/26-6/13/26). There was 3.77 inches of precipitation so far that was recorded at station NY-MR-89 for the month of June compared to the normal climatology precipitation at KROC airport for the month is 2.23 inches of precipitation. Conditions gotten more wetter since the last update from last week with the area seeing an abundance measurable precipitation in the form of liquid over this past week and the area is still remaining drought free. The area is currently considered moderately wet and conditions had gotten wetter and the ground is turning wet and squishy since the last update due to the area receiving an abundance of precipitation in the form of rain since there has been a lot of measurable rainfall last month in April and also in the month of March and this had caused the area to receive an abundance of moisture the area had received in the past in general, but the grass is very green and vibrant in the front and back yard. The sump pump hasn’t been pumping very much during the entire week due to the ground still very moist below the surface from more soaking rain from thunderstorms the area experienced this week and over the past couple of months. Outdoor activities have been spotty with cooler than average temperatures and wet weather lasting most of the week despite (scattered rain showers and/or thunderstorms almost every day this week) and OK weather for walking on trails this week and local creeks and streams water levels are still holding at high levels along with some seasonably cooler than normal air in the environment the entire week (Sunday-Saturday). The area experienced near normal to well below average temperatures the entire week with temperatures cooler than average. Furnace and air conditioner has been off and not needed for the entire this week due to cooler than average temperatures prevailing over the area the week due to temperatures cooling below average (as much as 15 degrees Fahrenheit below average). The ground has become very muddy and had become squishier this week and the drainage area in the backyard has standing water. The grass is green and vibrant with all the moisture that had fallen over this past week along with leaves on the trees approaching full foliage. The front yard needed to be hand mowed once this week along with vegetation such as Dogwoods and trees in the backyard are doing good, but mowing the backyard was challenging due to the ground becoming muddy and very squishy and spend around 3 hours cleaning up storm damage from strong gusty winds that the area experienced from 10:30AM EDT Thursday-8:30PM EDT Thursday bringing down snapped small and medium size tree branches scattered all over the backyard along with small branches with leafage and leafage scattered all over the backyard. No power was lost during the wind storm or damage done to the house. So far, the total precipitation at this station for the month of June is currently above average.
