The 0.10 inch of rain this week has quickly evaporated and the soil and dry and dusty. Only a few field flowers are growing; most plants are scorched in the hot, dry weather. Some trees are stressed with shriveled leaves. Agriculture is doing well so far; apricots are everywhere and plums are growing. However, the cherry crop failed, ruined by a late cold and snowy day. As has happened for the last few years, there are no moths. It used to be that many moths would invade the area by now. The Rio Grande River flow is near zero. Our water supply is adequate but with mandatory watering restrictions in place. No severe brush fires occurred this week.
