During the 4 and half month time span from 12/1/25 and 4/15/26, we had received 6 inches of rain. In the two months since, we have received 11 inches, including 0.8 inches in the last 24 hours. Plant growth has been significant during the wet period and the ground is saturated to the point of standing pools in the fields. The rain combined with the summer heat hss resulted in lower than average temperatures but also high humidity. There is no drought condition and the DSCI has remained at 0 for two months. The USGS reports the Llano River at Hwy 87 is flowing at 212 cfs vs the 53-year median of 124 cfs. The water level is high enough that recreational kayaking has resumed. There are no burn bans in effect in Mason County.
