Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: RI-PR-135
Station Name: Pascoag 0.5 SSW
Report Date: 6/20/2026
Submitted: 6/20/2026 7:35 AM
Scale Bar: Moderately Dry
Description:
With only 0.41” of rain this week and 0.97” total for June, conditions are still moderately dry. The Pascoag Reservoir is down to 8’4” which is low for this time of year. As mentioned last week, RIDEM needs to rethink their policies on dam control. We didn’t have to be this low going into Fourth of July week. There are a mother deer and fawn on the island in front of our house and they continue to come over and munch on our hostas. Bluebirds, orioles, sparrows and swallows continue to be active and the blue heron has been a regular visitor. Also, now that our hummingbird feeder is up, we are seeing hummingbirds regularly too. Our blueberry bush is loaded with berries this year and day lilies are just starting to bud. Trails at Sprague Farm are bone dry. No wet areas at all and no water flowing in streams. Fire danger is posted as Medium at George Washington state park.
