With a total of .61" observed precipitation in the past week, conditions at this station appear to be mildly dry. Soil is powdery down to about 2" and plants require supplemental watering to be healthy. There have been a number of storms recently but this station has seen them pass with little accumulation despite nearby observations. The garden is still doing well, with blooming flowers, bee activity, and birds busy. Early garden crops are beginning to mature, such as leafy greens and young onions. Irises have completed their blooms while sunflowers are gaining height. Bats are also very active and numerous in this area, much to the delight of all who dislike mosquitoes. Surprisingly, still, that ice that doesn't melt is still rolling around. The temperatures will continue to rise as the season goes on, though.
