The drier than normal trend continues. The drought monitor was updated on Thursday 6/11/2026 listing 64%+ of the county as abnormally dry and 35%+ as moderate drought. That day was also the only day that significant precipitation was recorded at this observation station. The week ended up reporting 1.39" of total precipitation which bring us to near normal for the second week of June, however we are still several inches below normal for the year. The lingering effects of the dry spring are diminishing and boaters this week have been talking about the low level of the Mississippi.
