The last measurable precipitation was May 27. The 95 degree, dry heat has scorched the fields and mostly burned up the plants that started to grow. The soil is very dry and dusty. There is not enough plant cover to hold down the dust when the wind blows. Trees are healthy and producing fruit. The local apricots and plums are good quality and delicious. Our water supply is adequate. The Rio Grande River flow is near zero. Fire bans and restrictions are in effect over the area.
