For the week 6/7 - 6/13 2026 ----- EARLY MORNING TEMPERATURES at Data collection: Aurora: 52, 54, 63, 66, 59, 56, 63 & Kingsford : 54, 55, 64, 66, 58, 55, 60 ----- WATER CONTENT IN THE GAUGE: AURORA - zero on Sunday & Monday, .16., 01, .52, .51, T for a total of 1.2" of rain, KINGSFORD - Nothing Monday & Tuesday & (Saturday at reading) .16, T, .52, .50 for a total of 1.18" ----- SNOWFALL- Aurora and Kingsford : nothing no snow -----MENOMINEE RIVER: Water levels all week at the normal summer water flow height. at reading : 1576, 1810, 1857, 2137, 2133, 2902 and again 2902! River still at good height and still average even after this weeks passing rain showers (Thank you!) ----- US DROUGHT MONITOR has changed this week and has the majority of WI in Slight Drought. Florence County is 50/50 with the west in the slight drought and us here in the Normal range. UP of Michigan are in Normal Range (less the west tip of the Yoop) -----NATURAL WILDFIRE RISK: WISCONSIN- Low risk and had some prescribed fires across the state but very few fires https://storymaps.arcgis.com/stories/4e65d2720175440a84a68ec07a64b88e On another map https://www.nifc.gov/nicc/predictive-services/outlooks it shows 3/4 of WI as low risk and the southern 1/4 as no risk --- UPPER MICHIGAN risk is a mix in the Yoop with low risk being along the Superior shoreline (except Keweenaw county) Medium in the middle and higher in the southern counties. ----- PLANTS: Flowering Plants drying up even watering them in the evening that were in the midday and afternoon sun but mostly shaded, the same plants thriving. Daisies are starting to bloom and raspberry plants are coming along. With that wind on Friday quite a few leaves have dropped and small sticks off of the trees but the grass is green and most of the hot spots in the grass are almost gone ----- WILDLIFE: Deer have shed their winter coats, plenty of different bird species flying around and nesting and this a.m. a big Tom turkey across the street "flexing his feathers" at the flock -----BUSINESS & INDUSTRY haven't seen many farm tractors or farm machinery this week maybe 3 going field to field using County Highway N. Logging trucks still moving wood and construction and HVAC still busy ----TOURISM is starting as more RVs are driving passed but only spotted 2 this week using this highway.
