Many fewer birds this year. Only two hummingbirds on our feeders when we normally have a dozen or more. Only a couple of song birds (couple of nuthatches). Crows and ravens are more vocal. Our aspen are struggling and may not survive the summer. Typical (Colorado) afternoon monsoons are feeble at best. Rio Grande flows are starting to taper off; still many rafters. Many more tourists from TX, OK, KS, are escaping the heat. Red Flag warnings are almost a daily occurrence with all the wind. No fires in the area…yet. Very few wildflowers: no irises in the small neighborhood pond
