Native dogwoods and older Japanese maples are showing stress with wilting leaves and some leaves turning brown/falling off. No rain this month. Only 30 percent of our normal rainfall since January 1. The garden which includes squash and watermelon has to be watered every 2-3 days in the higher heat days. Local creeks and streams are either just trickling or have stopped flowing. The local Rocky Branch Creek at NCSU is almost down to just a trickle of flow.
