Soil in the yard and gardens is drying out within a few hours of being watered. Linden, catalpa, and syringa trees/shrubs have been in full bloom but are beginning to fade. Continuing and increasing numbers of conversations about spring/summer/fall water supply outlooks for reservoir and surface water supplies in Idaho. Started putting out dishes of water for birds and insects, and these water supplies are already being used throughout the day by paper wasps, honey bees, and butterflies for instance. Fire danger warnings are already extreme in some areas. Elmore County has banned open burning until October.
