Still no rain, coupled with above normal temps and very low humidity. It has never been this dry in my 42 years of keeping weather records here. Lawns are brown, natives like dogwood and pawpaw drooping. Insect activity is very diminished. In early June there are normally scores of fireflies. Now just a few. Cicadas and katydids are very quiet. Streams are low. Crop plants of any type would have to be irrigated to survive. It's all pretty sad and dreadful.
