This weeks US drought monitor puts this observation area in the abnormally dry to moderate drought category. The report came out earlier in the week. Despite two modest rainfalls, we are still below average for the month and year. For June we are 8% below normal and -38% for the year.
Boaters on the Mississippi River are still talking about how low the river is, and the lawns have increasing areas of dry brown patches.
