No precipitation and hot temperatures made the jump from early spring to full summer mode this week. Poplar and birch have fully leafed out, and conifer candles are about 1”. Lower Black Sturgeon Lake level is down 3” over the past week. Forest fire hazard is rated at Extreme.  Garden soil is very dry, and gardens are requiring daily watering. Mosquitos have arrived. New fawns have arrived.  Bears are very active. We are in a water deficit and rain is required.
