After several weeks of no rain, the past week has been very wet. All plants and grasses are growing rapidly. Corn and soybeans in the fields are coming up nicely, about 10” in most locations. Humidity has increased over the past 36 hours reminding us summer is coming! Farm ponds and lake are filling nicely. Bugs such as ticks and mosquitoes are sure to follow! Most people have found it challenging this past week to find a break in the rain to walk their dogs! Annual grasses are finally growing since the over night temps have been 65 degrees F plus. Rainy weather has been approaching from the SW and SE (more rare!). We are seeing clearing skies this afternoon and the sun is pumping up the heat. Supposed to be two days of sun, then rain again. Plants will love this!
