When it rains it pours - literally. May ends with 6.87" of rain (2.7" is normal). There has been measurable precipitation for 9 days in row, which brings our yearly total very close to normal despite persistent drought conditions since Sep. Grass and vegetation now vibrant green with thoroughly saturated soils. My neighbor's garden may be a little too watered at this point. Lots of bird activity with the Carolina wrens hatching a new brood on my back porch.
