Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: NM-BR-239
Station Name: Albuquerque 5.0 ESE
Report Date: 5/30/2026
Submitted: 5/30/2026 8:48 PM
Scale Bar: Moderately Dry
Description:
After receiving 0.78 inch of rain earlier this week, the soil is still moist. Some field plants and flowers are appearing. Trees are healthy. The May precipitation total is 1.19 inches which is more than twice the NOAA normal value of 0.49 inch. March and April were dry. The water year total precipitation so far is 4.74 which is below the NOAA normal of 5.17. Our water supply is adequate, but due to low runoff from the mountains, dry conditions have prompted water managers to pump 100% of the city's water from groundwater reserves months earlier than usual. The Rio Grande River flow is near zero except for earlier this week during the rain. Fire bans and restrictions are in effect over the area; more rain and moisture is expected midweek.
