Rain all day on Saturday with episodes of heavy rain at times. All this rain has been draining off our property and running down the drainage ditches as the ground is saturated. The rain remained close by to our east and north. Monday was overcast all morning with clearing skies late in the day. Rain remained to our east as we dried out a bit, which led to clear skies Tuesday morning. The lawn is growing super fast and needs cutting, but it’s too wet. Rain after noon on Wednesday with a forecast of heavy rain and possible flooding locally does not bode well for cutting the grass this week again. There are low areas in the yard still holding a little rainwater on Thursday, but no rain. Large flower and tomato pots need water twice daily because they grew so well and are huge. We harvested some of the best tomatoes that were grown in 5 gallon pots. All the young, spring crop of various native birds are at the feeding table, including cardinals, doves, blue jays and sparrows. A few butterflies are around feeding from lantana and milkweed plants which are blooming profusely with all the rain.
