Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: ID-AD-9
Station Name: Boise 2.1 NNE
Report Date: 5/25/2026
Submitted: 5/25/2026 8:36 AM
Scale Bar: Moderately Dry
Description:
May 20 - 25, 2026: no measurable precip. so far in the Month of May. Dry. Dry. Dry. Rye and cheat grasses in the foothills, alleys, unused neighborhood lot are feet tall and nearly dried out. Breezy to gusty each day. Upper 80's to low 90's the past several days. Forecasts for this week include possible thunderstorms wih lightening and wind fronts for this evening and the next few days. Birds are very busy at feeders. Soil in yards and gardens dries out rapidly each day. A few spot fires have started in grasslands and mountain areas. Reservoirs in the upper Boise basin are still full or nearly full. Patchy snow exists at highest elevations. It's only the end of May but we're waiting for a fast-moving large grass or forest fire to start. Unsettling that it's so dry so early this year.
