We have received 2.68 inches over the last 8 days which brings the total for the month of May to 4.83 inches. There have been some moderate street flooding in Southern Hardin county, not real far from here. The year to date is 15.32 inches, which is trending to 2 1/2 inches over last year and more than that over the 30 year averages from both NOAA AND PRISM for the period April 1 until May 25. The ground is soggy with some standing water from recent rains. I think not all the fields are planted as some farmers were caught in the fields when the rain started earlier in the week. There are some fields close by with something popping out of the ground, and the winter wheat is over a foot tall. There have been plenty of animal and bird activity. A number of sports have had to reschedule or quit games early recently because of rain. This spring has been very wet, windy, and mostly cooler than normal it seems. I am still seeing some utility poles that are broken and haven't been replaced, but I think they are from telephone or cable companies.
