Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: IL-BN-19
Station Name: Belvidere 5.0 NNW
Report Date: 5/23/2026
Submitted: 5/23/2026 7:44 AM
Scale Bar: Moderately Dry
Description:
A total of 0.15" of precip was measured over the week as heavier precip skirted our area several different times. Suffice it to say our drought like pattern has taken hold and currently has this immediate area in its grip. That said, waterways are holding up surprisingly well as their levels remain about normal and are slowly dropping. Area lawns are showing signs of stress and watering the driest spots is necessary to prevent damage. Trees are beginning to look stressed and could use a good soaking. Wildlife is busy enough with a couple of rabbits and a turkey spending too much time near my garden. And last but not least those two geese that I thought had abandoned their efforts to camp out on the shoulder of our busy road, changed their bird brain minds and are right back, poking their heads above the tall grass next to the road. I'm pretty sure that the local predators think that those geese made the right decision.
