Description:
For week of 17-23 May: (All Zeroes--NO precip), Near Normal. High's: +16C to +31C; Low's: +13C to +1C; Wind: Calm to V 23km/hr, mostly calm. This week was much drier. No precip at all. No fog, no mist. Mostly clear sky to high cloud. We had one very hot day, reached +31C. Seemed to come out of nowhere. Otherwise, nice days. Black Flies have appeared, mostly at dusk. They are plentiful. The grass in growing rapidly. Bulb flowers are fully in bloom. Trees are in full bud. Creeks and streams have steady flow. Deer have shed most of their winter coats. Pheasants are getting noisy. Have not seen Mr. Red Fox or the Porcupine yet. Tourism has begun to pick up. So have road repairs. They seem never-ending on Peggy's Cove Rd (heavily used). Due to a week of no precip, the NS Burn Ban map is now all Yellow.
