Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: MI-LV-47
Station Name: Howell 7.3 N
Report Date: 5/20/2026
Submitted: 5/20/2026 7:46 AM
Scale Bar: Mildly Dry
Description:
A dry May in contrast from a month ago. The trees mostly all gained their leaves after 3 exceptionally warm days, May 17,18,19, my wx station recorded a high of 90.3F on Monday, making the warmest day of the year and 1st 90 at the house. The Oaks, Hickory, and female Cottonwood are getting their leaves as we've reached growing degree thresholds this weekend. Pollen "bombs" from the red pine was noticed May 17th, this begins a few weeks of high pollen off the pines as they move into summer mode. We started into a very dry pattern the first two weeks of May, little precip was recorded, most of our monthly total fell Saturday May 16th and Monday May 18th. The grass was showing some browning until after Saturday, and a reinforcement of precip Monday late afternoon continued to hold the grass green. Soil under the surface is still moist and cool. Mosquitos have been prevalant, not bad, but certainly noticeable.
