Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: NM-BR-239
Station Name: Albuquerque 5.0 ESE
Report Date: 5/16/2026
Submitted: 5/16/2026 6:47 AM
Scale Bar: Moderately Dry
Description:
The soil is dry and dusty with some field plants and flowers growing, much less than spring of last year. Trees are healthy. May precipitation so far is 0.41 inch, almost up to the 0.49 NOAA normal for the whole month. May is normally a dry month. Our water supply is adequate, but dry conditions have prompted water managers to pump 100% of the city's water from groundwater reserves months earlier than usual. The Rio Grande River flow is near zero. Red Flag warnings and watches are in effect this weekend due to hot, dry air and wind.
