For the week 5/10 - 5/16 2026 ----- EARLY MORNING TEMPERATURES at Data collection: Aurora & Kingsford : 31, 26, 37, 39, 34, 50, 53 -----
WATER CONTENT IN THE GAUGE: .14 Aurora & .15 Kingsford -----
SNOWFALL- Aurora and Kingsford snowflakes blowing in the air on 5/11 -----MENOMINEE RIVER: Water levels all week at the normal summer water flow height ----- US Drought Monitor has All of Michigan and most of Wisconsin at Normal range (less 3 counties in NW WI)-----Natural Wildfire risk is High in  2/3 of the UP of MI right now and with the strong wind gusts no burning presently allowed in NE WI hold s true to the same ----- WILDLIFE: Baltimore Orioles were the new bird species and more yellow goldfinches, the young eagle, deer, chipmunks are now in the yard, rabbits-----PLANTS: perennials continue to "pop up" in my berm and dandelions are now popping up as well. Trees are budding----- TOURISM: The RV's are out and traveling along Highway N and saw 3 I noticed just this week while working outside. Boats around 10.----- BUSINESS: Construction, utility, logging, HVAC and a couple of farming machinery moving through. Road busy this week. ----- First of fire smoke this morning I could see and smell in the air this a.m. ----- We had a burst of wind last night (9:20p) so strong that it tipped over a very heavy bench, large plant in a heavy pot, a food prep station and a carved log statue at my house. One could actually hear the wind as it approached from a distance until it was here. I had to hurry inside and slam the door shut. the wind lasted a minute or so and wind driven rain accompanied it. I sure hope that man on the motorcycle wasn't blown off his ride.  ----- That's all I have. Have a great week everyone.
