Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: RI-PR-135
Station Name: Pascoag 0.5 SSW
Report Date: 5/16/2026
Submitted: 5/16/2026 7:17 AM
Scale Bar: Mildly Dry
Description:
With 0.93” of rain this week, conditions are still mildly dry but getting closer to near normal for mid May. The Pascoag Reservoir is up to 8’5” but lower than the ~9’ it should be by now. That said, summer activities are in full swing on the lake with boaters, fishing, kayaking and paddle boards out each day. Azaleas and lilacs are in full bloom and rhododendrons are getting ready to pop. Trees are mostly leafed out and hikes are now shaded which will be nice with the heat predicted for this week. Orioles, blue birds, swallows and finches are very busy in the yard. Hiking trails at Sprague farm and George Washington state park were appropriately damp after this week’s rain but will likely dry out with the heat predicted for this week. Fire danger is still listed as Medium at George Washington state park.
