We had around a half inch of rain in a single event this week which again did little to impact the longer term drought we are experiencing. While the pond filled immediately after the rain, within a day the water level had dropped again to about a foot below the spillway. The stream has water in it but none is flowing, it is just standing in isolated small ponds along it's length. In addition to the usual raccoons, deer and rabbits we saw a wild turkey hen this week. Irrigated gardens and lawns are doing well. Non-irrigated areas are having a hard time of it with no need to mow. The soil is very dry.
