We have had a total of 0.11" of rain in the past week. The water level in the ranch lake has dropped in the past week, we are now 15% below lake capacity. YTD the ranch lake has not reached capacity, at this rate I don't believe we will reach capacity in 2026. Did not see any nesting Canadian Geese on the ranch lake island in 2026 which is unusual. Canadian Geese visitors to the ranch lake have been very sporadic, also unusual. Pasture grass has definitely slowed growth, cattle will stay on round bales for the foreseeable future. Sheep will stay on alternating pastures, but will start supplementing hay if we don't see any improvement in the precipitation. Continued shortness of rain will probably result in a downward shift in next week's condition scale.
