Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: OH-AL-15
Station Name: Ada 3.0 W
Report Date: 5/10/2026
Submitted: 5/10/2026 9:44 AM
Scale Bar: Mildly Wet
Description:
We have received 1.58 inches in the last 7 days with a total of 1.94 inches for May so far with the year to date total of rain of 12.43 inches that I have reported. This is about 2 inches over the PRISM and NOAA normals since February 1. The news has reported that the whole area is out of the drought from last year because of the amount of rain we have received this spring. It seems to me that we haven't had very many sunny days and clear nights this year so far as the spring has been more cloudy and windy than normal and maybe warmer than normal too. I think that not a lot of the planting of the fields is done and we need several days of warm sunny weather to dry out the ground enough for the farmers to get in the fields. The trees have most of their leaves out in full, the grass is growing, and some flowers have been blooming. We had a cold snap, in the last week, that went below freezing for at least one night and a couple nights with frost advisories. We have been seeing the normal bird and animal activity. The news has been making a pretty big deal about the hantavirus outbreak on the cruise ship near Europe.
