Station Number: OH-GR-49
Station Name: Bellbrook 1.1 NNE
Report Date: 5/10/2026
Submitted: 5/10/2026 9:01 AM
Scale Bar: Near Normal
Description:
Soil conditions are normal with adequate moisture present. We have had a little over an inch and half of rain in the past 7 days. Temperatures have been mostly on the cool side in the past week. This has continued to encourage growth in grasses, bushes and flowering plants. Some maple trees have been slow to leaf out and the past week of above freezing temperatures along with more sun have spurred them to leaf out more. Birds have been very active in search of food and maintenance of nests. Some species that spend the summer in this area have not been seen yet. Small mammals have also been active in search of food and nest material. Large mammals such as deer, are shedding their winter coats for summer brown fur. They have also been very active in search of food.
