We had a thunderstorm deposit almost 2/3 of an inch of rain in one hour this week. The speed of the storm and the large amount of rain served to fill the pond, however by the time I got to see the stream the next morning, it had some water in the low areas but none was flowing downstream. We continue to see stunted fields which would normally have crops growing vigorously. The bird migration is in full operation with bigger flocks each night. We have seen a recent explosion of rabbits with many more visible during the day than in previous weeks.
