With limited precipitation in the past week, conditions at this station appear to be mildly dry. New plant growth is surging, with early flowers such as bee balm, bleeding hearts, bluebells, and colombine taking the lead. Warm temperatures contrasted with cooler ones have caused concern about budded trees losing growth, but those buds seem stable for now. Bluejays and Corvids are active, and some deer have let themselves be seen. Spring is here and, though we could use rain, it is off to a great start. Still finding that pesky ice that doesn't melt.
