D-3 drought continues despite the recent rain. I have no recollection of the consistent high fire danger warnings this early in the year. Typically, I see them in the fall. I have had to irrigate the fescue lawn and my emerging perennials. The moles are making more tunnels in the lawn than in recent memory. Gobbler present and vocal and single Turkey hens are seen foraging under my bird feeder. The male hummer is busy at the feeder. I have been identifying many of the migrating birds by their calls, here for the summer. Streams are reported low flow. We didn't bother going to view a local waterfall because of this.
