Continuing dry conditions and cool temperatures have slowed the onset of spring after a warm spell. Farmers are beginning to plow fields and fertilize. Vegetable farms have row covers out over planted plots. Some energy continuing to be used for heat but increasing sun exposure contributing to warming. Brush fire danger high, especially when wind increases. Forsythia fading and trees and other bushes beginning to bloom.Ducks have returned to pond. Peepers, tree frogs apparent and some summer birds returning.No restrictions posted statewide, though some local governments restricting burning. Some hiking trails opening. Ski season almost over except at largest areas. Water supplies good, though some ponds not fully recharged.
