Conditions this week are mildly wet. Although only 0.26 inches of rain fell this week, there is no were for it to absorb or run-off. Standing water from last week is significantly reduced but persists in low-lying areas and rivers, creeks, and drainage ditches are still heavy but are below their banks. Soils are moist. Monday morning’s temperature dipped to 28F but that was the only freeze this week. Otherwise, temperatures have swung up and down. Plant nurseries are now open and local boating activity has increased. Outdoor activity continues to increase. Lawns are lush and are growing quickly. The landscape is getting noticeably greener and fruit orchards are now in bloom (hopefully we’ve had our last frost of the season).
